The problem is, sometimes it’s hard to see yourself objectively. Sometimes there are things you don’t know you don’t know. And sometimes, even though you know, you still don’t hold yourself accountable to actually do them. It happens, I know because I’ve been there. And that’s why program design can be so powerful. You take you out of it. You take your in-the-moment desires out of the picture. You drop the second-guessing, and simply go back to working hard. You focus everything you have on putting in the work with the confidence and knowledge that you’re doing exactly what you should be doing. This is an advantage over the competition. My eyes jolted open. I’d forgotten to pay that bill. Or at least, I thought I may have forgotten. I couldn’t remember now, but the adrenaline was pumping, and I started thinking about all the other things I think I may have forgotten to do. It was going to be another restless night of tossing and turning. My nights had been getting worse as my days seemed more and more out of control – it felt like there was a constant noise in my ears and I couldn’t get any traction. I’d drink some Coffee. Put out a fire. Get pulled into a useless conversation. Try to get some work done, get distracted. I’d get to the end of my day, and feel like I hadn’t actually done very much at all, even though I had felt overwhelmed and busy. How did I expect to do more, when my plate was already full? I had big goals but I was already stretched thin, if I couldn’t handle what I had now, how could I expect to handle more?
I needed a system. I needed a personal operating system that would give me the tools to get more done, without stress. In fact, I wanted to lower my stress and become more productive too.
